Large international company is looking for a Perl Developer / Unix Hosting Platform Engineer with the knowledge of English language to work at their Head Office. Work abroad!
Position Description
-FMP QA (QA-FPI) is a Firm Management Project, one of many of programs within the FPI (Franchise Protection Initiative). One of the primary goals of QA-FPI is to reduce risk to production systems resulting from the lack of separation between production systems and QA systems. The candidate will lead in tooling the farm to handle this separation.
-Management of a global distributed infrastructure plant critical to hundreds of users/thousands of applications.
-Focus on maintenance and improvement of the infrastructure tooling for the managed plant.
-Future planning to further improve the deployment and maintenance of the plant.
-Documentation and process improvement working with remote ops teams.
-Engineering escalations to deal with problems from the ops teams.
Description
We are looking for a strong engineer to join us to work on an exciting firm management project opportunity. The engineer will work on development and integration of systems which will separate QA and PROD environments. This will include modification of tooling to handle entitlement and configuration elements for QA and Prod. We expect that the new tooling will see significant uptake from all customers across all business units, and we are looking for a committed individual with the drive and determination to make the project a success.
Skills Required
-Solid experience in Object Oriented Perl
-Experience in Java
-Proficient in Linux/Solaris/Windows, including scripting and an understanding of process management
-An understanding of high availability and clustering technologies
-A strong understanding of XML
-Strong verbal and written skills required to interact with a global teams and customers
-Ability to work with customers, gather requirements, and own the task of finding solutions
-Strong presentation and documentation skills
-A solid understanding of change management processes
- Fluent English!
